Projects

We’re just getting started but here's some of our past and future projects…

Classtronauts

We are proud to have collaborated with Windmill Primary School in Sheffield to launch a camera into space. Our team worked closely with the school to design a curriculum that not only taught students about space, communication, and alien life, but also provided hands-on experience through launching a balloon into the stratosphere.

During the launch, our team recorded two hours of footage, capturing breathtaking views of the earth from space. This footage was then used by the school to inspire students and share their experience with their community.

We believe that projects like this are invaluable in inspiring and engaging young people in STEM subjects. By providing students with the opportunity to work on real-life projects, they can develop important skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork.

We are thrilled to have made this project happen, and look forward to running the event again in October 2024

News Radio

This is an exciting project that gives students the opportunity to create their own community radio station. The project involves building a radio broadcasting device, finding presenters, creating content, and deciding what they want their community to know about.

The students will work together to design and build the broadcasting device, learning about the different components and how they work together to transmit radio signals. They will also develop their communication and presentation skills by finding presenters and creating engaging content for their radio station.

The project allows the students to take ownership of their learning and empowers them to share their ideas and perspectives with their community. They are able to decide what topics and issues they want to focus on, giving them a platform to share their thoughts and opinions.

We believe that projects like this are invaluable in promoting student agency, creativity, and collaboration.

Moonbounce

We are excited to be working on a new project that will give school children the opportunity to use a radio dish to bounce a message off the Moon. This unique experience will allow students to learn about radio communication, space technology, and lunar science in an interactive and engaging way.

The project will involve setting up a radio dish at one school, which will transmit a message to the Moon. The message will then bounce back to Earth and be received by another school hundreds of miles away. This will demonstrate the incredible power of radio communication and the vast distances that can be covered with this technology.

Reclaim Your Space

We are excited to be working on an upcoming project that will give a group of young people the opportunity to create a message for a giant billboard or set of community advertising spaces. The project will encourage students to think critically about who creates advertisements and public messages like these, and why they are important.

The project will also provide a platform for students to express themselves and share their ideas with their town or city. They will work together to create a message that represents their thoughts and perspectives, and that they believe will resonate with their community.

We believe that projects like this are essential in empowering young people and giving them a voice in their community. By providing students with the opportunity to work on real-life projects, they can develop important skills such as critical thinking, communication, and creativity.
